Volume I only; This is number 700 of an undated, unnamed limited edition of 1000 copies privately printed by the Burton Society for subscribers only, likely circa 1903-1905. The "Translator's Forward" -" Wanderers' Club, August 15,1885.". Bound in the publisher's original cloth with title, author and volume number on a paper label on the spine. The front hinge is cracked. The corners are lightly worn . Spine caps are softened with fraying at the head. Top edges gilt. Deckled fore-edges. Small smudge on the ff. Otherwise, the pages are clean, smooth and unmarked. Includes 14 black and white illustrations by various artist including Adophe Lalauze and etchings by Albert Letchford. The tissue guard for the frontispiece has one edge folded, otherwise, the tissue guards for the 13 other plates are smooth and intact. There is a 2" long x 1" wide piece of the fore-edge of p.201 torn away. The last four pages remain uncut. 362 pages. Please see all images. Seller Inventory # ABE-1715367753723

Operating through a retail outlet located at 200 Maine St. in Brunswick and through its on-line sales activities, Curtis Friends operates only with volunteers from the local community and sells only those books donated by its constituents. Curtis Friends has been in existence for several decades.
