nFINE/VG slipcase. Vellum spine and points. Limited Edition numbered 145/350, printed on Zander's handmade French paper, untrimmed. Slip-case with large pictorial pastedown title (scarce case when present). 24 dry-point copperplate-engravings; engraved title-page and 2 vignettes all by Richard Wyndham (1896-1948). Archives describe Wyndham as a "champaigne Bohemian", an interesting painter and writer, a figure in the world of Evelyn Waugh. Sacheverell Sitwell was a known art critic, architecture writer and poet of the time, relative of Dame Edith Sitwell. His poem 'The Rio Grande" was set to music and performed 1928, the year of this publication. Final notice in the book states, "The copper plates have been destroyed." Vellum spine and corners with gilt titling, pale pink boards reproducing one of Wyndham's engravings on the front cover. (Ritchie A15: Fifoot SA15) . PO stamps neatly inside covers. [B228].
