Grade 3-5 Five children, four Causcasian, one Oriental, show readers that differences make each person unique. The differences covered are physical characteristics such as eye and skin color, hair and body type, as well as special skills and talents, handicaps (physical), likes and dislikes and emotions. While the overall theme of accepting differences and reinforcing the positive is readily apparent, the text is too repetitious. Black-and-white photographs are in abundance, sometimes with two or three to a page. A short glossary is appended with simple definitions of words such as emotions, feelings, hyperactive, differences, talents and more. An adult resource guide with discussion questions and activities is also included.
