DESCRIPTION: No date stated, possibly first edition as the handwritten date on half-title page states "1899". It was first published 1885 and subsequent editions circa 1900 and 1903. 184 pages, 156 engravings, 8x6 inches. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering and design to the front cover and spine. ------ CONDITION: Covers and spine are lightly rubbed, corners bumped. Damp stains to the top parts of front and end paste-downs and free endpapers. Front and back hinges cracked but holding. Joints are strong. Pages are clean and unmarked. A previous owners name, date and initial in pencil on front free endpaper. ------ Note: Happy to send more pictures and answer any questions.
