A breakthrough, evidence-based workbook for borderline personality disorder (BPD), with practical skills to help you regulate emotions, improve relationships, and build a life worth living.
If you've recently been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder (BPD), you may be feeling overwhelmed, scared, angry, ashamed, or uncertain about what comes next. You may even find yourself searching online, only to be met with frightening stories and worst-case scenarios. Take a deep breath. BPD is treatable, recovery is possible, and this workbook will help guide you every step of the way.
Despite what you may have read or been told, BPD is not the worst thing that can happen to you. Like many mental health conditions, it exists on a spectrum, and everyone's experience is different. What do you all have in common? You may have difficulty regulating emotions, navigating relationships, and managing impulsive behaviors. And you may even have trouble seeing yourself clearly―continuously switching from the hero to the villain of the story you’ve written about your life. So, how can you make sense of it all and start on the road to healing?
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, this groundbreaking workbook meets you where you are, and combines the most effective evidence-based treatments for BPD, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and interpersonal therapy. You'll gain a deeper understanding of your diagnosis, identify emotional triggers, strengthen emotion regulation skills, improve relationships, and develop a personalized path toward lasting recovery.
In this compassionate workbook, you'll learn how to:
- Understand BPD and how it affects your thoughts, emotions, and relationships
- Identify emotional triggers and develop healthier coping strategies
- Build emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills
- Challenge unhelpful thinking patterns using DBT, ACT, and CBT techniques
- Clarify your values and create meaningful, lasting change
- Build a personalized roadmap for long-term recovery and well-being
Your diagnosis may have shaped how you see yourself and the world―but it doesn't define who you are or who you can become. With this workbook as your guide, you'll gain the tools, confidence, and hope to move beyond surviving and begin building a life that feels stable, meaningful, and authentically your own.
