About the Author

Jean-Marc MATHIS, n� d'un p�re alsacien et d'une m�re basque, ne parle ni le basque ni l'alsacien. Fils de ma�on, il a tra�n� sur des chantiers avec son p�re et fait une formation de dessinateur en b�timent. � priori, il �tait fait pour travailler dans le b�timent, mais le go�t du dessin et l'envie de raconter des histoires furent les plus forts. Son enfance est sa principale source d'inspiration. Jean-Marc Mathis a �tudi� � l'�cole de l'image d'�pinal et fait les Beaux Arts de Nancy. Il est titulaire du DNSEP. Il a expos� � �pinal, Nancy, Frouard, Lun�ville, Paris, Gen�ve et Li�ge. Il travaille comme illustrateur et auteur de bandes-dessin�es pour diverses revues et journaux, et se consacre davantage aux livres jeunesse depuis l'ann�e 2002.
