Born of Fire: a book on identity

This book on identity Born of Fire, by Father Innocent Montgomery, CFR for men acts as a guide through seven identities to learn from Jesus: son, brother, man, spouse, father, mystic, and ‘new man’ this Lent.

It includes witness accounts of postulants on their desert journey in the wilderness, invitations into prayer, and reflections on our new life in Christ by Father Innocent.

This book meets a man’s need for challenge, adventure, introspection, and formation of his heart after the heart of Jesus. It’s a must-have for the men in your life!

Each of these corresponds to one of the seven weeks of the Lenten journey, including the Easter Octave.

It includes witness accounts of Franciscan Friars of the Renewal postulants on their desert journey in the wilderness, invitations into prayer, and reflections on our new life in Christ by Father Innocent.

Each week follows the same cadence:

// Sundays: pray with Scripture and hear where and how the week’s theme comes out in the Word of God.
// Mondays: learn more about the theme for the week and how it relates to your own identity.
// Tuesdays and Thursdays: hear a witness account from the desert.
// Wednesdays: examine what actually happened at your baptism, rediscovering God’s power there.
// Friday: guided meditation in a Eucharistic Holy Hour, one hour with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.
// Saturdays: remember and reflect on what we prayed with throughout the week.

Born of Fire // Men’s Lent book meets a man’s need for challenge, adventure, introspection, and formation of his heart after the heart of Jesus. It’s a must-have for the men in your life!
