Born with a Silver Fishhook: True fish tales about fish tails chosen from over 20 years of freelance writing

Over 65 years of fishing provides stories that, while true, can sometimes be read with a wink or two. The stories here have been previously published in magazines and online. Happy, sad, humorous, and at times unbelievable, they are all true. They represent a small portion of a lifetime of fishing captured in print over the past 20 years. Ron Brooks has become a story teller over those years, and he shares some of his stories with the world here once again.

Ron Brooks is an award winning outdoor writer, having published in print and online more than 1,000 articles over the past 20 years. He has fished all over the southern U.S. and written about almost all of those experiences. Although he grew up in Key West and South Florida, Ron currently resides in North Florida where he spends his time fishing with his new wife, Donna Jeanne. He is a member and past president of the Georgia Outdoor Writers Association (GOWA) and the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association (SEOPA).
