The Borrowed Light: A Tale of the Seven Setts (The Brockfolk)

Seven setts. One lamp. And a light that was never theirs.

Through the door at the bottom of the world, Bram and his friends follow a dying light down the old roads - to Ashholt, a holt warm and well-fed where nobody sings, nobody gives, and one small cub carries every memory but her own. What Bram finds beneath their Lamp will change what home means forever: his people's warm winters were bought with somebody else's light, and the fair thing will cost Thornholt dearly.

The second tale of the Seven Setts: a story of debts owed, names come home, and courage that gives instead of takes. Reads as a complete adventure; even better after The Last Holt. For readers 6 to 9 who are ready for a proper story.
