Item description from seller

A charmingly illustrated botanical guide of observations made on the author's rambles. Smartly bound in brown cloth. Delightfully illustrated with eight plates and numerous vignettes in the text. Collated, complete. Undated, dated from a copy held by the British Library. A lovely, contemporary glimpse into the botany of the meadow, corn-field, hedge-bank, wood, heath, mountain, bog and sea-shore, as observed on the author's rambles. Written by prolific botanical author Charles Alexander Johns, who also held the post of head master at Cornwall's Helston Grammar School. Smartly bound in brown cloth. Externally, very smart with minimal bumping and rubbing and a few marks. Internally, firmly bound. A generally bright and clean edition with the odd spot and a more sizeable tide mark affecting the last twenty pages. Very Good.
