Bound: Book 1 (The Remembrance Cycle)

Raylynn Medlin believed her family's secrets were buried under Ozark soil. Silent. Forgotten. Safely past.

Then her sister dies, and something is unearthed beneath the land they grew up on.

The artifact hums at a frequency Raylynn can feel in her teeth. It wakes abilities she never asked for and opens Emma's research like a door she cannot close. The women of her bloodline have been guarding something for generations, and every one of them kept it from her.

What Emma found was not a relic. It was a key. Seven sacred sites, scattered across the world, waiting for someone of the blood to reach them. Her sister spent years assembling the map. She did not live long enough to walk it.

Raylynn is not the only one who knows the artifact has surfaced. Others have been waiting a very long time, and they are patient in the way only the very old can be.

With her daughter beside her, her own gift beginning to answer, and a pull toward something older than belief, Raylynn faces a choice she cannot make safely. She can protect her family and let the line end quietly. Or she can become what every woman before her was preparing the ground for.

Some legacies are worth dying for. Others are worth awakening for.

Bound is the first book of The Remembrance Cycle, the opening arc of The Awakening Saga - a spiritual science fiction universe about memory, lineage, and the frequencies that connect us to one another and to something far larger.

Shelly D. Boxx writes spiritual science fiction about memory, lineage, and what people carry without knowing it.Her path to fiction ran through education, art, and mentoring, work that put her alongside people in the middle of their hardest seasons. The Awakening Saga grew from her own: loss, and the slower work of healing that comes after it. She writes about frequency and remembering because she has needed both.Bound is the first book of The Remembrance Cycle, the opening arc of a multi-cycle universe published through her imprint, Legacy Light Studio. When she is not writing, she paints and draws and spends time with her family. She believes the light was never somewhere else. It was always already here, in each of us, waiting to be remembered.
