This is a heart-warming and sometimes surprising look into the life of a man of many and varied dimensions. Each chapter accounts for a personal passion that this sausage magnate championed during his colorful and prodigious life.
Bob Evans, a country simple man by admission, began his amazing career desiring only "to own a farm, free and clear and raise a (my) family on it". This book, written by his daughter, Robbin, in collaboration with a much-loved, Columbus columnist, Mike Harden, bespeaks, not only of Bob Evans' generosity of spirit and entrepreneurial approach in all venues of his life, but also, of the greatness of the Appalachian people and one of their finest sons.
Coming out of the crushing poverty of the Great Depression and from a second- generation Welsh family, this book is the story of the genuine "American Dream", its heart, body and soul: Bob Evans.
