Kincaid, known for his ruthless efficiency, captures wanted outlaw Billy Riddle and his loyal girlfriend, Mae, for a substantial reward. During the arduous trek, Mae, initially devoted to Billy, begins to see his true, selfish nature, realizing he'd sacrifice her for his own life. Kincaid's quiet demeanor is explained through a campfire chat, revealing a tragic past involving his wife and son, adding depth to his character. A gang of ruthless bounty hunters, led by the opportunistic Angus Keough, relentlessly pursues Kincaid, intending to steal the bounty by killing them all. The story builds tension as Kincaid must protect his prisoners from Keough's gang, all while Mae's perception of Billy shifts and Kincaid confronts his own demons.
