That Boy Johnny - Weekly Reader Children's Book Club Series

That Boy Johnny! by Evelyn Ray Sickles - Published in 1952 - Ours is the 1955 Edition, Hardcover Book with dust Jacket. Chosen to be the Children's Weekly Reader Edition. These books were mailed to children on whose parents subscribed to the Children's Weekly Reader Organization. It was a real treat for children all over America, to receive a new book every week, especially in the quiet summer months. I know this, as I was one of those children who anxiously awaited the arrival of the next book. This wonderful service made me a lifelong reader. The books were sold en masse, therefore, they used a lower-grade paper, having a higher acid content. 75 years later, they tend to have some discoloration on the edges of the pages from exposure to humidity. 120 Pages - Good Condition. The dust cover has some wear and a tear on the top edge of the backside. See the photos. Our vintage books may have signs of wear or production imperfections. Bending, foxing, soft corners or tears will be noted in the description, our photos are part of the descriptions. Questions Welcome. Thanks for shopping.…
