Book #5 in the series of 14 children's books featuring Boy Scouts written 1911-1918 by Payson & published by Hurst (they would later be reprinted by A. L. Burt). In 2 pa92ges + 12 pages of ads for other series in rear, with a plain frontispiece + other illustrations throughout text by Charles L. Wrenn. A later printing of the 1912 FIRST EDITION (listing to book # 12 in rear), this 12mo is in Poor condition: basically a shelf filler. Tan cloth-covered boards decorated & lettered in brown/green/red to front & spine are heavily rubbed, with cloth loss & fraying. Sewn text block is holding, but several signatures have loosened; deep crack at table of contents page. Random spotting & soiling throughout, but pages otherwise moderately tanned & unmarked. NO DJ.
