The Boy in the Tree: When Weak is Okay

When a curious boy decides to climb a beautifully twisted tree, what starts as an adventure quickly becomes his worst nightmare.

Frozen with fear at the treetop, he can't get down. As worried friends and neighbors gather below, embarrassment floods through him. Why can't I be brave like the other kids? Why do I need help when I should be strong?

Through one terrifying afternoon stuck high in the tree, this young boy's world changes. That scary day stays with him as he grows up, until he finally learns an important truth: “being weak isn't bad, and failing's okay, because everyone does it, often each day.” Even adults sometimes need rescuing, and that's perfectly normal.

From the author of Your Missing X Factor, this beautifully illustrated story shows children that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Perfect for families navigating conversations about vulnerability, emotional wellness, and the courage it takes to accept support when life feels scary.

Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is let others help us down from our tree.
