About the Author

For almost seven decades, Ozzie Sweet has ranked among the most prolific and acclaimed photographers in the country. Although best known for his sports photography -- particularly hundreds of contributions to SPORT magazine -- Sweet has shot more than 1,800 magazine covers, including covers for Time, Newsweek, Playboy, Ebony, Cosmopolitan, TV Guide, The Saturday Evening Post, and Sports Illustrated. His varied portfolio includes photos of icons from Joe DiMaggio to Albert Einstein, and Grace Kelly to Jimmy Durante. Collections of his photographs have been collected in two previous books: "Legends of the Field: The Classic Sports Photography of Ozzie Sweet" and "Mickey Mantle: The Yankee Years." He lives in York Harbour, Maine.
