An early 16th century fourth edition of the Brabant Chronicle, exploring much of the Dutch lands, including Flanders, Holland, Zeeland, and more. It examines the history of the Duchy of Guelders, and much of the nobility over the centuries. This work is printed in a 42-line format, with numerous woodcuts through, many being half page and three-quarter page examples. There are scenes of battle, saints, lords, and more. 11 leaves are lacking, being leaves A1, A4, Cc2, Dd1-4, Tt 2-3, and two additional leaves. Six leaves have been replaced completely, or partially by an early hand, being B1, E4, Cc3, z1-2, and z4, with the woodcuts being reproduced by hand, including a full-page genealogical tree to the verso of Cc3. One finely bound volume in small folio, 309 of 320 leaves This volume is in good shape, with some rubbing and wear to the binding, the hinges and corners having been restored. There is foxing, staining, and soiling throughout, heavier to the first and last leaves. Several leaves bear old mold spores. Seller Inventory # ABE-1700431164526
