Top edge blue, faint foxing to closed fore-edge. 19.5x13cms, in the original binding of blue cloth, firm and clean, spine titled gilt, with slight puckering to spine ends. In the protected price-clipped pictorial dust jacket. This is creased, with frayed edges and several closed tears, a one-inch chip to the upper corner of the front panel, and two large chips to the back panel. 'The whole Border area, from North Sea to Solway, and on both sides of the Border, is presented by one who has traversed it on foot, year after year, and knows its history and its legends as well as its beauty and glamour.'
