Item description from seller

Fiction set in the fictional village "Break o' Day" in Jackson County, Michigan. "Set in the swamps of Ingham and Jackson counties"--Andrews. First published in Boston in 1894 as "The Chronicles of the Break O' Day, this later edition was published in Lansing, Michigan, and the title was shortened to the title given here. I have not seen any other edition that was published in Michigan nor have I found any information regarding possible 2nd or 3rd editions of this book, or whether they exist. General cover wear, both inner hinges cracked, but still holding by the webbing. End papers a bit with a few age spots and a few pages also have a some age spots (most are clean). An uncommon Michigan title. Ref: Andrews, 703, Streeter 2225, Wright 2803 ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 342 pages.
