Breakthrough Performance: Managing for Speed and Flexibility

Who are the real managers at work? Most people are surprised by the research proving it is not the people holding the job description of manager. With flatter organizations becoming the norm in business and demanding more speed and flexibility, everyone must have the skill to manage themselves alone or in teams.

Breakthrough Performance is especially for the real managers – the ones who are on the front lines – and how they can radically improve and sustain their performance. It starts with establishing an organizational structure in which, through resources, expectations and feedback, people doing the job work smarter and performance is significantly better. The book also explains how work can be more meaningful, and how coaching can propel people into breakthrough performance. An organization with workers who have the power and ability to self-manage will be prepared to meet the changing needs of its customers.
