The book offers: guidance on the various forms of treatment and care, including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy; information about complementary therapies; practical advice about managing life with and after cancer - diet, exercise, work and finances; and, answers to questions about relationships, family and where to turn for help.
About the Author
Dr Emma Pennery PhD, MSc, RGN is Clinical Director at the national charity Breast Cancer Care. She has been a breast cancer specialist nurse for 16 years. She lectures widely on breast cancer and regularly acts as an expert consultant for national and international clinical, research and nursing initiatives. Val Speechley MA, RGN, RCNT, Oncology Nursing Certificate, has worked in cancer care for over 30 years, most recently as Macmillan Information and Support Manager for the South West London Cancer Network. She is currently working as a freelance writer. Maxine Rosenfield NSc, Dip. Couns, Dip. Training and Learning Development, worked as a radiation therapist before developing and managing a UK national cancer helpline in the mid 1980's. Today, based in Sydney, she works as a trainer, consultant and counsellor specialising in communication skills.
