Collated complete. The author's second novel, first published in 1927 to worldwide acclaim. The novel won the Pulitzer Prize in 1928. The novel tells the story of several interrelated people who die in the collapse of an Inca rope bridge in Peru, and the events that lead up to their being on the bridge. Written by Thornton Niven Wilder, an American playwright and novelist who won three Pulitzer Prizes in his career. Illustrated by Clare Marie Veronica Leighton, an EnglishAmerican artist, writer and illustrator, best known for her wood engravings. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with damp stains to the boards. Original unclipped dust wrapper is very smart with minor wear and light sunning to the extremities. The odd small mark to the panels.
