[FIRST EDITION] New York: Horace Liveright, 1930. First American Edition, First Printing (no month stated) following the limited Black Sun Press edition issued in Paris earlier the same year. In dark blue (almost black) cloth stamped in gilt on front panel and spine; lacking the next-to-impossible dustwrapper. 82 pages plus frontis photograph of the Brooklyn Bridge by Walker Evans. The US edition was extensively revised and corrected following the first privately printed edition of 275 copies published by the Black Sun Press just three months earlier. Inscribed by former owner (dated prior the second edition) on front blank page with embossed ownership seal on half-title page, spine faded and bumped at top, text age-toned, else a very good example of this important title. NOT EX-LIBRARY. (fprw2).
