Bridging The Gap: An Educator's Guide (Volume 2)

Bridging the Gap: An Educator’s Guide proposes an opportunity for parents and educators to work together to help our children gain a better awareness and understanding of themselves. The Educator’s Guide is one of a two part series with the second part to be a Guide for Parents. The book provides information to help us as adults to look at our own behaviors and gain a better understanding of how we may be perceived not only by other adults, but also by the children we work with. In today’s fast-paced society, children are being raised in homes where both parents have to work full-time or in a single parent home in which that parent works full-time in an attempt to make ends meet. Educators barely have enough time to make sure the child is meeting his/her educational goals. What’s missing? Quality time and efforts to enhance a child’s basic emotional needs! This book is based on simplicity and fun and provides creative activities to enhance children’s self-esteem and socialization skills. It will also provide you with opportunities for quality time to help build and establish communication, trust and rapport. If Bridging The Gap benefits one family, child, or educator to change the way they handle specific situations in a more effective and positive manner, then it has served its purpose. It is written in everyday language and is not to be made difficult in any way. That is the foundation for this program and this book, therefore, let’s work together toward bridging the gap!

Terry began her career working as a probation officer for adolescents in the community. She provided intensive probation, individual and family counseling. She also helped to develop a program for children and teens in the community in an effort to give kids alternatives to getting into trouble. She later worked inpatient Dual Diagnosis and became a Program Director for a long term residential treatment center providing individual, group and family therapy. She developed a program for Daycares and Early childhood education teachers to "bridge the gap" between early childhood educators and parents. Terry's mission for Bridging the Gap is to enhance children's behavioral skills and educational abilities along with implementing mutual awareness and communication between families and educators. Over the past 14 years she has also worked in medical sales and customer service industry where she also provided motivational sales and customer service training techniques to colleagues and clients. During her journey, she, like you encountered numerous successes and pitfalls and has taken the time to try and "figure it out." She now wants to share her insight with you. She is the owner of Inspire and Motivate, IAM and also a motivational speaker and the author of The Resume of Life, Becoming Consciously Aware Through Spirit, Mind and Body, and Bridging The Gap: A Parent's Guide.
