Straight, tight book in beige cloth covered boards with bumped tips and spine ends. 162pp text crisp and clean showing negligible finger soil in a margin or two. Original, price-clipped dj in new mylar is evenly sunned, shows wear and loss but displays well in new mylar. 162 pp. Indexed. The author had many years experience in the breaking and schooling of horses. A practical book enhanced by the illustrations of Lionel Edwards. There are 25 mono plates plus a colored frontispiece. "Unless [the rider] understands the psychology of the horse and the principles upon which its education is based, he will never get the best out of him or improve his riding. Nor will he prevent his mount from deteriorating" "Much of the book is therefore devoted to general principles of horsemanship and to the general education which the author maintains must preceded any special training for hunting and polo. On all these matters he holds decided and reasoned opinions." A good read, with many good illustrations, each of which has a definite contribution to make to the narrative.
