Amsterdam, Adriaan Wor en de Erve G. onder de Linden, 1738, 4to. (first sections of the preface: folio), full parchment binding with ribbed spine and some blind tooling including a blind tooled vignet on the front and back covers, handwritten title on spine and sprinkled edges, 54+583+[5] pp., the binding is intact with only minor smudges and wear and tear, the sewing has been compromised half way through the book with signatures still attached but sticking out. There is waterdamage in the front and back of the book (including the titlepage and all the way through the firts few sections) and some discolouring along the edges (especially the top) but otherwise the printwork is clear. With an etched vignet on the titlepage an etched head piece and tail piece, all three by A. van der Laan. With some decorative initials and an engraved portrait of Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft (M. v. Mierevelt pinx., J.M. Quinkhard delin., I. Houbraken scupls.). From the collection of Jelle Kaspersma and Alie Vinke (2011) and with some library stamps/vignets.
