Millay, Edna St. Vincent. Make Bright the Arrows: 1940 Notebook. New York and London: Harper & Brothers, 1940. First edition, first printing (“K-P” code, “Printed from type,” “First Edition” stated). A powerful call to conscience from Pulitzer Prize-winner Edna St. Vincent Millay, written as a direct response to the global threat of fascism and war. Whether Millay’s words played a role in shaping that decision is unknown, but this volume surely stands as a poignant artifact from that pivotal moment in history. Bound in black cloth with red title panel. Dust jacket present and unclipped, with a small tear near the top edge and light wear to the bottom. Interior clean and unmarked. A strong and evocative copy of Millay’s wartime masterwork, with meaningful historical provenance.…
