Item description from seller
Our good condition books are generally good for reading but not for gifting or collecting. They could have imperfections such as creasing, fanning, inscriptions, margin notes, yellowing, staining on edge or cover or pages, bumps, scuffs, etc etc (sometimes multiple of these). It's a wide category that encompasses anything that isn't almost-new down to anything that is slightly better than poor. We would NOT recommend gifting Good books - these should be considered reading copies. Our books are dispatched from a Yorkshire former cotton mill. We list via barcode/ISBN so please note that the images are stock images and may not be the exact copy you receive, furthermore the details about edition and year might not be accurate as many publishers reuse the same ISBN for multiple editions and as we simply scan a barcode or enter an ISBN we do not check the validity of the edition data when listing. If you're looking for an exact edition please don't order (at least not without checking with us first, although we don't always have time to check). We aim to dispatch prompty, the service used will depend on order value and book size. We can ship to most countries, see our shipping policies. Payment is via Abe only.…

The Brilliant Activities for Reading Comprehension series (2nd edition) addresses the Programmes of Study for reading comprehension in the National Curriculum for England for primary schools.
It is vital that children understand what they are reading. It is also fundamental that they enjoy what they are reading, so that they grow up to become lifelong readers.
The 32 passages in Brilliant Activities for Reading Comprehension, Year 2 are designed to do just that. They provide children with a variety of engaging, enjoyable texts that will grab their attention, and indeed their teacherʼs attention as well.
The types of comprehension passages range from newspaper articles and dialogues, to plays, stories and poems. They gradually increase in difficulty as you progress through the book, and through the series, encouraging children to develop their ability to read for meaning and use a range of strategies to engage with the text.
The 32 comprehension pieces have been specially written to engage pupils. Each piece has a set of questions, word work, extension activities and cross-curricular opportunities. The types of comprehension passages include newspaper articles, dialogue, plays, stories and poems. They are ideal for guided reading.
Tasks range from simple factual recall and vocabulary work to more open-ended questions to challenge pupils of all abilities and enable them to provide a more personal response. Answers are provided in the back of each book.
There are detailed starting points for lesson plans, integrating writing, speaking and other literacy skills with the passages.
The cross–curricular activities provide a wealth of ideas for extending the learning further and are ideal for fast-finishers.
The Brilliant Activities for Reading Comprehension series (2nd edition) has been written by Charlotte Makhlouf, an experienced primary school teacher based in London. The series is published by Brilliant Publications. Charlotte has also written the Getting to Grips with English Grammar series.
