Broken: The Problem of Sin

Help your little one discover God's love and redemption.

Grace and Elinor are not just sisters—they're best friends. Together, they enjoy singing, dancing, and playing with their toys. One day, during their playful adventures, Grace gets an idea. She asks her sister, "Do you want to see this car fly?" With a flick of her wrist, Grace sends a small blue toy car soaring across the room. To their amazement, the car seems to fly!

But in an unexpected twist, the flying car crashes into Mommy's favorite picture of the two sisters, sending it to the floor with a shattering sound. The glass breaks, and the picture frame is left in pieces. What will the girls do next?

In "Broken," Floyd Gary Pierce tells a heartfelt story of childhood curiosity, consequences, and the power of forgiveness. When Grace and Elinor try to blame their sleepy cat, Biscuit, for the broken frame, they learn that dishonesty only makes things worse. Their journey from guilt to confession leads to a meaningful conversation with their mother about sin, forgiveness, and the gift of grace.

This touching children's book is more than just a story—it's an opportunity to teach young readers about honesty, the importance of telling the truth, and the transformative power of grace.

This is a great book to teach young children about sin. It's not scary, and it's not loaded with guilt. It's just a perfect testimony. It also has beautiful pictures and has two very lovable main characters. As an adult who loves children's books, I really enjoyed it!

I love that the book's plot is simple and easy for children to follow and yet there are so many layers of spiritual depths you can dig into. There are Scriptures that are highlighted in the book that you can help your child memorize. It also leads into a natural conversation about salvation and accepting Jesus' sacrifice for us to pay for our sins. It explains our own brokenness and how we cannot fix ourselves but only God can make us new. The illustrations are beautiful. My 3yo loved the book, understood the sins highlighted as well as ways to reconcile that sin through Jesus.

What a wonderful book for children to read and share with their parents! This book is written in a way that children can understand what sin is and how important it is to turn to Jesus. The illustrations beautifully show the story to help younger kids to understand. I highly recommend this book!
