Through Broken Reeds: Verse (1889)

Through Broken Reeds: Verse is a poetry collection written by Will Amos Rice and originally published in 1889. The collection features a variety of poems on different themes, including love, nature, and spirituality. The title of the book is derived from a biblical reference to the fragility of human beings, likening them to broken reeds. Rice's poetry explores the human condition and the struggles and joys of life, often through the lens of his Christian faith. The collection is a reflection of the Victorian era in which it was written, with its emphasis on morality and sentimentality. However, Rice's poetry is also marked by its simplicity and accessibility, making it a timeless work that can be appreciated by readers of all ages and backgrounds. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
