Countless books on the Civil War recount the carnage, vengeance, and heroism in battle. About the Author

Daniel N. Rolph is currently professor at both Gwynedd-Mercy College & Montgomery County Community College as well as being associated with the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. His first book, To Shoot, Burn, and Hang: Folk History from a Kentucky Mountain Family and Community, was published in 1994.
