Es bleibt demnach nur die Annahme, dass dem Vf. Des Dan (wie auch dem des Esr) das Aramäische mundgerechter war als das Hebräische (womit übereinstim dass der hebräische Theil unseres Buches mehr sprachliche Mängel aufweist, als der aramäische, abgesehen von der textlichen Ueberlieferung des letzteren), so dass er im Aramäischen hängen blieb, nachdem er aus einem sach lichen Motiv einmal angefangen hatte, darin zu schreiben; dies sachliche Motiv aber ist darin zu erkennen, dass er eine Rede (wie der Vf. Des Esr ein Schrift stück) des heidnischen Herrschers in einer anderen Sprache als derjenigen der heiligen Schriften, wie in ursprünglicherer oder auch sachgemässerer Form, gehen wollte. Dem an das Aramäische gewöhnten Vf. Ist hier im Grossen passirt, was umgekehrt den an das Hebräische gewöhnten Abschreibern bei mehreren ein zelnen Wörtern passirt ist, s. 2 10. 411. 15. 516. 7 10 vgl. Esr 418.
