Full straight-grain brown morocco, gilt floral fillet between double-gilt rolls on covers, spines gilt in 6 compartments, gilt turn-ins, all edges gilt; boards scuffed at edgescovers rubbed & scuffed, one inner joint split, generally sound otherwise, Thomas Clifton s armorial bookplates. Provenance: With holograph note on both half-titles These books were taken out of the Convent of Bostello on the 18th July, 1832 in the attack of the Constitutional Forces on the town and heights of Penafiel on that day and Signed by G.
