About this Item
A uncommon book of hymns written by Augustus Foster Lyde. Lyde was a Episcopal minister responsible for his part in establishing the American Protestant Episcopal Mission to China. The book contains a introduction about his work and notably short life. In decorative cloth binding with gilt detailing. EXternalyl soud, there is some wear to the boards, extremities, joints and backstrip, as well as marking to backstrip and boards. The hinges are slightly strained. Internally, the pages are generally firmly bound, although there is significant tenderness in places, and the pages are largely bright and clean throughout, aside from some handling marks, the odd spot, and foxing to endpages. There is a blindstamp to pastedown. Good. Seller Inventory # GEN33-C-20
