Buffole: Buff-Oh-Lee

The Civil War is over, and Ole has returned to the Minnesota farm where his family has built a life. But the West is calling.

Told through the eyes—and unmistakable voice—of Sven, a computer-savvy, human-communicating Shih Tzu, Buffole follows Ole and his family as they leave Minnesota and join a wagon train headed into the unsettled West. What begins as a search for a new life soon becomes a journey filled with danger, hardship, friendship, loss, romance, and unexpected adventure.

Across the prairie, the travelers face exhausting conditions, buffalo herds, storms, scarce resources, and threats from outlaws and hostile encounters. Sven’s sharp eyes and unusual ability to communicate make him an indispensable companion as the wagon train struggles to survive. The journey also brings tragedy, including the loss of members of the group, while others find unexpected chances to build new lives.

For Ole, the West becomes something much more personal when the destruction of his family sends him down a path of grief, survival, and revenge. Eventually taking the name Buffole, he travels with Sven and Shag, a remarkable buffalo, while pursuing the man responsible for the deaths of his wife and son. Along the way come gunfights, saloons, romance, dangerous encounters, and a final showdown that tests Buffole’s personal code of justice.

Part frontier adventure, part family saga, and part canine tale, Buffole delivers a colorful Wild West story where loyalty can be as important as courage—and where even a Shih Tzu can become part of a legend.
