In this book you'll discover how to build historically accurate ship models from plastic kits. I've written so that novice modelbuilders can achieve satisfactory results from the start and I've tried to convey my love for ships of all eras. I admire well-made models, no matter what they're made from. This book focuses on models made from plastic simply because hundreds of relatively inexpensive plastic kits are on the market, and because I'm more familiar with plastic than other materials. My students and I don't claim that the modeling techniques in this book are the only ones that will work. We knew know they've worked well for us, so keep this book on your workbench use it as a reference when you run into a problem for which you don't have an immediate solution.
