About this title

Synopsis

Very few hobbies offer more ways to gratify their devotees than car modeling. Many do it for the simple fact that they enjoy working with their hands. Some prefer to build a model replica of a car they own or have owned in the past. Others desire building certain types of cars because they dream of owning one, driving one, or being able to admire the car at any given time. Modelers can take time out to dream any time by simply walking over to the display shelf and letting a model car transport them to automotive Valhalla. The act of building a model car requires strategic planning, mental preparation, hand-to-eye coordination, and the determination to achieve an end goal. Building and Detailing Scale Model Cars reveals the fundamentals of building, painting, and detailing model cars. Author Pat Covert has left no stone unturned. He uses over 300 detailed color photographs to illustrate techniques, tools, adhesives, paint, polish, masking and decals, weathering, fine detailing, and more.
