Ever felt the frustration of building an API that feels clunky, slow, or just plain hard to maintain? You're not alone. Many developers wrestle with the complexities of creating robust, scalable, and secure APIs. But what if there was a better way? A way to build powerful, efficient APIs that are not just functional, but a joy to work with?
Welcome to the future of API development. This book, "Building REST APIs with ASP.NET Core 8," isn't just another dry technical manual. It's your personal guide, a mentor in print, designed to transform your approach to building web services. We go beyond the basics, taking you on a journey from foundational concepts to advanced, real-world applications.
Forget the confusing jargon and theoretical fluff. This book is a hands-on, no-nonsense guide. We start by laying a solid foundation, showing you how to set up your development environment and understand the core principles of REST. From there, we build, step by step, a complete, production-ready API. You'll learn to handle routing, manage data with Entity Framework Core, and implement powerful authentication and authorization schemes.
But we don't stop at the fundamentals. We tackle the challenges you'll face in the real world. We'll show you how to design clean, intuitive API endpoints that are easy for other developers to consume. You'll master versioning strategies to ensure your API remains stable as you evolve it. We'll explore asynchronous programming to keep your applications responsive under heavy load. And we'll cover essential topics like logging, error handling, and unit testing, ensuring your API is not just fast, but reliable and bulletproof.
This book is meticulously crafted to be your go-to resource. Each chapter builds upon the last, with practical examples and clear, concise explanations. We focus on best practices and modern techniques, so you're not just learning how to build an API—you're learning how to build an API the right way, the future-proof way. You'll gain a deep understanding of ASP.NET Core 8's capabilities, from Minimal APIs to dependency injection and configuration. You’ll become proficient in using tools like Swagger/OpenAPI to document your API, making it easy for others to use.
Whether you're a student looking to build your first API, a junior developer aiming to sharpen your skills, or a seasoned professional seeking to modernize your approach, this book is for you. It's a comprehensive resource that will save you countless hours of trial and error. It's the knowledge you need to build APIs that are not just good, but exceptional.
Imagine the satisfaction of creating an API that's fast, secure, and easy to maintain. Picture yourself building solutions that are both elegant and powerful. Stop dreaming and start building.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
