Synopsis

Friendship, family and love are complicated things. Casey Stone had just finished a case that involved a lost little girl and now his friend Carl had just asked for his help in the rescue of his nieces—eleven-year-old twins—kidnapped in East Tennessee. Casey finds himself in the middle of a deadly feud between two families—rivals in the local moonshine business. The twins are hostages in a battle for turf in the liquor war being waged by the locals and outside mobs. Hidden away in the hills of East Tennessee, the girls’ lives are in jeopardy. The search becomes desperate because one of the girls is in fragile health. Casey Stone goes up against a murderous clan to save the children of a family he has come to love and respect.

About the Author

Robert W. Godwin, Bob to virtually all who know him, was born in Knoxville, Tennessee five days after Pearl Harbor and nine months and two hours after his parents married. Raised in Knoxville, he graduated from Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia in 1963 and the University of Tennessee Law School in 1965. Upon being drafted, he served two years in the United States Army in the Staff Judge Advocate’s Office, rising to Specialist Fifth Class and receiving the Army Commendation Medal. Returning to Knoxville, he commenced a civil law practice continues to practice to the present. An avid runner and triathlete, he has competed in three continents in more than 450 races, including marathons and Half-Ironmans. He and his family have enjoyed bicycle touring both in the USA and Europe. Bob loves travel and savoring new and different cultures and countries. He grew up hiking the nearby Great Smoky Mountains and is committed to environmental issues as they affect the Park as well as the world at large. Twice married, with three children, he and his wife are presently raising a teenage grandson. Their home is an 1800’s log cabin located in a five acre wood populated with flying squirrels, opossums, raccoons and a variety of other creatures, some of which fancy his style of living and have made his home theirs as well, despite his objections. He is a longtime columnist for the award-winning journal, Footnotes, and has published several articles in local weekly papers. Alias Baby Girl is the first novel in the Casey Stone P.I. series.
