The Burke And Wills Exploring Expedition: An Account Of The Crossing The Continent Of Australia, From Cooper's Creek To Carpentaria (1861)

The Burke and Wills Exploring Expedition is a historical account of the first successful crossing of the Australian continent from south to north. The book, written by Robert O'Hara Burke, chronicles the journey of the exploring party from Cooper's Creek to Carpentaria in 1861. The expedition was led by Burke and William John Wills, and the book provides a detailed account of the challenges they faced, including harsh weather conditions, difficult terrain, and encounters with Indigenous Australians. The book also documents the tragic end to the expedition, with the deaths of Burke and Wills, and the heroic efforts of the remaining party members to survive and return to civilization. This book is a valuable historical record of one of the most significant exploration expeditions in Australian history. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
