About the Author
Professor James S. O'Rourke teaches at the University of Notre Dame, where he is Director of the Eugene D. Fanning Center for Business Communication. He is also co-author of Business Communication, by O'Hair/O'Rourke/O'Hair. In addition to establishing an international reputation in business and corporate communication, Professor James O'Rourke was named one of the outstanding faculty at Notre Dame's graduate school of business by Business Week magazine. Professor O'Rourke is a 1968 graduate of Notre Dame and also holds advanced degrees from Temple University, the University of New Mexico, and a doctorate in Communications from the S.I. Newhouse School of Syracuse University. He has held faculty appointments in such schools as the United States Air Force Academy, the Defense Information School, the United States Air War College, and the Communications Institute of Ireland. In addition, Professor O'Rourke was a Gannett Foundation Teaching Fellow at Indiana University, and a graduate student in the Humanities at Cambridge University in England.
