If you’ve ever been told, “Just ask the data team,” waited two weeks, and received a chart you didn’t ask for—this book is for you.
I wrote this book for founders, executives, managers, consultants, and decision-makers who know data matters, but don’t want to become programmers to use it. You don’t need Python. You don’t need SQL. You don’t need a computer science degree. You need clarity, the right questions, and tools that actually work for humans.
Inside, you’ll learn how business intelligence really works—explained in plain business language, not technical jargon. We’ll start with what BI actually means, move through understanding data, metrics, and KPIs, and then show you how modern no-code and low-code tools let you build dashboards, reports, and automated analytics without touching code.
This book walks you step by step through:
- Understanding business data without feeling overwhelmed
- Choosing KPIs that drive action instead of confusion
- Designing dashboards executives actually want to look at
- Creating reports for different stakeholders without extra effort
- Visualizing data clearly (and avoiding ugly, useless charts)
- Automating reports, alerts, and insights so data works while you sleep
- Interpreting trends, patterns, and risks with confidence
- Using BI for forecasting, planning, and smarter strategy
- Building a data-driven culture without turning into “that data person”
Everything is written from a leadership perspective. No theory for theory’s sake. No technical rabbit holes. Just practical guidance, real-world thinking, and examples that make you say, “Oh, that finally makes sense.”
The tone is casual, slightly humorous, and highly practical—because learning business intelligence shouldn’t feel like punishment. You’ll come away knowing how to ask better questions, spot real insights, and use dashboards and analytics as decision-making tools, not decoration.
Whether you’re running a company, leading a team, advising clients, or simply tired of guessing, this book will help you turn data into clarity—and clarity into confident action.
- You don’t need to code to be data-driven.
- You just need the right mindset—and this book.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
