In 1853, the courthouse burned destroying all probate records. The author has used many sources such as newspapers, Cemetery/Church and court records to complete this work. Many of her early settler were from northern Georgia and Fairfield County, SC. The Index mentions approximately 4,500 entries of persons within this book.
