The Butterfly Story (Paperback)

Paperback. The Butterfly Story sprang to life from a real-life need. A clinical social worker practicing with children for over 16 years, I am continually reminded how individuals in various settings misinform children about homosexuality, sometimes resulting in isolation, bullying, and suicide. I regularly feel desperation to help young children understand this simple, yet complex, experience without the complications of sexual detail. What emerged is The Butterfly Story - a light, fun, engaging, and freeing expression of differences with a clear, but subtle, message of acceptance and oneness. When people read this book, unaware of its intended audience, they say that it speaks to issues of racial and cultural diversity as well as homosexuality. Comments from readers include "clean", "clear", "logical", "elegant", "wow", and "It speaks to a child's ability to understand." Adults have used the book to "come out" to others in a non-threatening manner. This item is printed on demand.
