Frederick Dellenbaugh was an assistant topographer on the Powell Expedition of 1871-72. This book is Frederick Dellenbaugh s narrative of this amazing river expedition down the Green and Colorado Rivers, and the time spent off river, surveying and mapping the region. It is the only detailed record of an expedition which completed the exploration and survey of the Grand Canyon region in a scientific manner and executed the first maps of the region.
