Cloth worn at spine ends and rubbed at corners. Former owner's bookplate on front pastedown. Published with the approbation of the most. rev., the Archbishops of Baltimore and Cincinnati vii, (2), 10-384 pp. Comprises the individual issues published from September 1858 through August 1859, illustrated with engravings; engaging stories and tales, poetry and essays for youths, often with a moral lesson.
