JUST FOR A CHANGE.

SECOND EDITION circa 1915 (first published by Henry Frowde in [1908]), small format, 12mo, 108 x 96 mm, 4½ x 3½ inches, blue boards, coloured illustration to upper cover: huge doll clasping crying little girl, (95) pages, half-title present but probably lacking front endpaper. Title page printed red and black with vignette of dolls, 23 very pretty colour plates, a few black and white vignettes on reverse of plates. Wonderful story: a little girl changes places with her doll and is not always treated as kindly as she would wish. Lots of toys, a large jolly golliwog who sings at the ball and a friendly Dutch doll. Expertly recased, head and tail of spine, spine edges and corners slightly worn, boards faintly foxed. A touch of colour to 2 black and white vignettes, contents otherwise bright and clean. A very good copy of a delightful Rosa Petherick book. Our book is published under Humphrey Milford's name only, in London. Later copies bear the imprint Humphrey Milford, Oxford University Press.
