Brown cloth with gilt lettering and illustration to fr., gilt lettering to sp. and some impressed black decoration to front, and less so to back, spine dull, sp. ends, joints and extremities all slightly rubbed, but clean, text-block slightly cocked. f/piece with tanned tissue-guard, sm. logo centre t.p., xvi + 486 + (1, small logo to centre recto) + 32, November 1881 pub. list with dec. headpiece, very extensively illustrated throughout with full page facsimile t.p.'s and text figs, I make it 103 chap-books of all kinds are either fully reprinted or briefly described, along with their wood-cut illustrations; main internal fault is black fr. end-papers & pastedown have a number of fairly small white patches of surface loss to edges, the end-paper outer edge also have some slight chipping, also gutter has thin paper split, but quite secure, rear opening is fine, faint marginal tanning throughout, several internal gutters opening but text-block holding. 13.5 cm x 19 cm.
