Black cloth hardback book, with decorative gilt decoration on front board and gilt title impressions, set within a blocked red box, positioned nicely in the top half of the spine. No jacket or slipcase cover. The book is in wonderful condition, normal wear and marks apply consistent with use and age. 181 pages, all intact, nice tight binding, all pages, text and illustrations are in excellent, clean, readable order. The binding design is based on a binding in the British Museum, by Roger Payne dated about 1790-95. Printed in Great Britain, by Robert MacLehose & Co. Ltd, Glasgow. Set in Monotype Baskerville 11 point leaded 1 point. Bound by C. & H. T. Evans Ltd, Croydon. Another fabulous book from The Folio Society.
